Hamirpur (HP), Oct 2 (PTI) Himachal Pradesh BJP president Rajiv Bindal on Friday asked the Congress-led state government where it was spending the loan amounts, given the poor condition of roads, healthcare and public services.

Speaking to mediapersons here, he said the Himachal Pradesh government raised a loan of Rs 600 crore despite its mounting debts, and questioned why development has come to a standstill in the state.

On the state BJP’s activities, Bindal said the party is continuously working to strengthen its organisational structure. The party has revamped its earlier 74 mandals into 171, and created 17 organisational districts in Himachal Pradesh.

Organisational structures have been established at nearly 8,000 polling booths, and various morchas and cells have been fully formed.

Bindal said the party is now focusing on strengthening its organisational structure at grassroots level, for which a two-day training camp is underway in Hamirpur.

He said the BJP will deploy 171 vistaraks for its 171 mandals. Each vistarak will work with the respective mandal president to further strengthen the party at the booth level.

“Our clear belief is that the real strength of an organisation lies at the booth. We have a provision for monthly meetings at nearly 8,000 polling booths, and meetings are currently held at approximately 6,000 to 7,000 booths every month. This two-day training programme is aimed at making this system even stronger,” he added.

Speaking to reporters, Bindal alleged that the Congress government has spent around Rs 1,000 crore on publicity and promotion.

He also raised issues related to treatment under HIMCARE and Ayushman Bharat health schemes, and asked the government to disclose the current status of payments due to hospitals under these schemes. PTI COR BPL RUK

Nine Years, Made Possible by Readers

In 2017, Shekhar Gupta started ThePrint with a simple belief: Indian readers want journalism that asks why and what next, not just what. And that enough of them would be willing to pay for good journalism.

Nine years on, that belief has held.

And, in these nine years, we’ve stayed true to our mission. We’ve been asking the follow-up questions, going beyond the headlines and explaining what’s actually happening. We’ve travelled across the country to bring you in-depth, visually-compelling stories from the ground.

It’s been nine years of readers choosing to make this possible. If you’d like to be one of them:
