Shimla, Apr 2 (PTI) The 16-day-long, two-phased budget session of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha spanning approximately 90 hours was concluded on Thursday with 103 per cent productivity.
This 11th session of the 14th Legislative Assembly was conducted in two phases – the first phase, held from February 16 to 18, comprised three sittings, while the second phase, from March 18 to April 2, consisted of 13 sittings.
Addressing the media, Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that during the session, productivity stood at 103 per cent and the government provided responses to notices regarding a total of 617 questions (471 Starred and 146 Unstarred).
Nine government bills were introduced in the Assembly and, following deliberation, were passed. He added that sixty reports from various committees were tabled in the House.
He said that the bill seeking amendment in Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly (Allowances and Pension of Members) Amendment Act has been passed, and if MLAs defect, are subsequently disqualified, and subsequently lose election, they will be denied the pension and other benefits typically accorded to former MLAs.
