Maharajganj (UP), Jul 3 (PTI) A 23-year-old healthcare trainer was found dead with a bullet injury on the rooftop of a private degree college in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj, police said on Friday.

The deceased, Ajay Yadav, a resident of Kushinagar district, had been working under the Skill Development Scheme at Vishwashanti Niketan Degree College for the past six months.

Police said a gunshot was heard around 3 am on Friday. Yadav’s body was found on the college rooftop later in the morning, and a country-made pistol was recovered from the spot.

The family members alleged that Yadav was murdered and demanded a fair investigation.

Circle Officer Ankur Gautam said the case prima facie appeared to be a suicide, but police were investigating all possible angles.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further action will be taken based on the post-mortem and forensic reports, police added. PTI COR KIS MDO MDO
