Chandigarh, Apr 14 (PTI) Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said the Haryana government remains fully committed to upholding and advancing the ideals of Dr B R Ambedkar.

Saini said the BJP government has launched numerous schemes for the welfare of every section of society, with the objective of ensuring that the benefits of development reach every section of society in keeping with the principle of ‘Antyodaya’.

Paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar on his birth anniversary, Saini emphasised that the BJP government firmly believes that the holistic development of the state and the nation is impossible until every section of society is empowered.

Therefore, we are continuously formulating policies designed to uplift the weaker sections of society, he said.

The state government has implemented several welfare policies to ensure quality education, employment, social security and equality of opportunities, he said.

Saini was addressing a gathering in Panchkula after flagging off “Samta Daud” (marathon) on the occasion of Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary.

The chief minister said Baba Saheb’s thoughts, principles and struggle are a source of inspiration for all.

He continuously fought against social discrimination and described education as the most effective medium for social upliftment, he said.

“It is solely through education, awareness, and unity that we can bring about positive change in society,” Saini said.

Baba Saheb’s teachings and his ideas will continue to inspire the society forever, the chief minister said, adding that his unwavering commitment towards equality, justice and human rights will continue to illuminate our path.

Saini recalled Ambedkar’s contributions toward building a just and inclusive India by championing the rights of the marginalized and oppressed.

He remarked that Baba Saheb’s life is an extraordinary saga of struggle, sacrifice, and determination.

Today’s marathon conveys a clear message: that no form of discrimination, inequality, or injustice is acceptable in society, he added.

“We must collectively strive to build an India where every individual receives equal opportunities, every citizen is treated with dignity, and no person is deprived of their rights,” Saini said, adding that this was Baba Saheb’s dream, and this constitutes the very soul of our Constitution.

Interacting with the youth, the chief minister remarked that you are the future of the nation, and the responsibility of building an empowered and egalitarian society rests upon their shoulders.

On the occasion, Haryana BJP president Mohan Lal Badoli, Minister Krishan Kumari Bedi, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, former Speaker of Haryana Assembly Gian Chand Gupta and Kalka MLA Shakti Rani Sharma were among others present. PTI SUN NB NB
