Gandhinagar, Apr 2 (PTI) Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi has described his state as the safest for women, and said everyone knows the situation in other states.
He was speaking on Wednesday night at the inauguration of Gandhinagar North Premier League 2026 (GNPL), organised by local (Gandhinagar North) MLA Rita Patel.
“Women in Gujarat feel safe even late at night during the Navratri festival. They return home fearlessly after enjoying garba. Gujarat is the safest state for women. We all know the situation in other states,” Sanghavi said.
He also spoke about elections to the local self-governing bodies in the state scheduled to be held on April 26.
“The date of elections has been announced. It is time to vote and give answers to all those people who try to defame our state and question its safety,” he added.
The deputy CM stressed the importance of sports, and said youth are the future of the state.
