Bhopal, Jun 21 (PTI) Porters, food vendors, pointsmen and auto drivers came together for a Yoga session organised by the Government Railway Police (GRP) on multiple railway platforms across Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. Officials said exercise mats were laid out for the 12th International Day of Yoga at about 60 railway stations in the state, engaging more than 2,000 people.
They said passenger movement remained unaffected.
“Railway platforms were chosen for the Yoga sessions because they offer maximum visibility in a public place. We thought this would encourage more people to take up Yoga, which our Prime Minister has said boosts personal health and acts as a catalyst for world peace,” Additional Director General (Railway Police) Raja Babu Singh said.
Singh said the GRP-led sessions involved multiple railway system stakeholders, including porters, pointsmen, food and catering vendors, auto and taxi drivers and RPF personnel.
