Jaipur, Apr 13 (PTI) Two persons, including a government doctor, have been arrested in Ajmer for allegedly raping and blackmailing a minor girl, police said.
The arrested accused are Dr Kailash Kumar (32), a resident doctor at Janana Hospital and Khushal Chauhan (30), operator of an e-mitra centre.
Deputy SP Shivam Joshi said that a case was lodged on April 11 at the Krishnaganj police station, alleging that the doctor had repeatedly raped the girl by threatening to make her obscene photos and videos viral. The e-mitra operator also blackmailed and raped the girl.
The victim had gone to Janana Hospital for her sister-in-law’s delivery in January. During that time, the doctor obtained her mobile number, according to the complaint.
Later, he called her to his flat, allegedly raped her and made obscene videos. The doctor allegedly continued to exploit her by repeatedly threatening her, it said.
Meanwhile, when the victim went to the e-mitra centre, the centre operator Khushal Chauhan allegedly transferred the photos and videos from her mobile to his device and blackmailed her. He forcibly took her to a hotel and raped her, she alleged.
“Both the accused have been arrested under relevant sections of the BNS and the POCSO Act,” Joshi said. PTI SDA — MNK MNK
