Ministry of Finance rejected the most applications. However, the percentage of applications being rejected by ministries has come down.
The Ministry of Finance remained the ministry that rejected the most number of RTI applications in the year 2016-17, said the annual report of the Central Information Commission released Friday.

The Finance ministry receives the highest number of RTI applications, the report said.
In 2014-15, the ministry rejected 20.23 per cent of all applications, which fell to 18.32 per cent in 2015-16. However, for 2016-17, this number has increased marginally.
The Prime Minister’s office had a rejection rate higher than 20 per cent for the three preceding years has seen it fall by half to 10.21 per cent, the report said.
The report also says there are four ministries that had a rejection rate lower than 1 per cent. The UT of Delhi had the lowest rejection rate, followed by Ministry of External Affairs, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Urban Development, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
