Banda (UP), Mar 20 (PTI) A 16-year-old girl has been found to be seven months pregnant after she was allegedly raped in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Friday.
According to the Kul Pahad Kotwali police, a case was registered on Friday based on a complaint from the minor. The victim alleged that she was raped seven months ago by a man called Pappu, who had threatened her not to narrate her ordeal to anyone. The incident allegedly took place in Belatal town of Mahoba.
Station House Officer (SHO) Vinod Kumar Singh said an unidentified man has also been named as an accused in the FIR.
“The matter is being investigated. The victim will undergo a medical examination on Saturday and further action will be taken based on the findings,” the SHO said.
