New Delhi: The government has said that four projects named under the Namami Gange Mission 2.0 have been completed and operationalized in the first quarter of the current fiscal year. These projects have improved the sewage treatment capacity of the Ganga river, a PIB press release said.
The government has stated that the Namami Gange Mission 2.0 is a significant step towards the rejuvenation of the Ganga river. The mission’s primary focus is on enhancing the sewage treatment capacity of the river to prevent pollution.
The Munger project has a budget of Rs 366 crore, under which a 175 km long sewerage network and a 30 MLD capacity STP will be built.
The Mirzapur project has a budget of Rs 129 crore, under which a 31 MLD STP will be installed. This project will prevent untreated sewage from entering the Ganga river.
The Ghazipur project has a budget of Rs 153 crore, under which a 1.3 km I&D network and a 21 MLD STP will be built. This project will treat sewage effectively and prevent its discharge into the Ganga river.
The Bareilly project has a budget of Rs 271 crore, under which a 15 drain interception and diversion work will be carried out. This project will target pollution abatement in the river.
