Lucknow, Aug 17 (PTI) A fire broke out at the Food Processing Directorate building in the Hazratganj area here on Monday morning, prompting a swift response from police and fire personnel, officials said.
The fire was reported to the Hazratganj police at around 10.30 am through the control room, following which police reached the scene, and two fire tenders equipped with necessary equipment were rushed to the building, according to a police statement.
The building was found filled with dense smoke when the personnel arrived.
Firefighters and police immediately began firefighting and smoke-clearance operations, while a search was conducted to ensure that no one was trapped inside.
The fire was brought under control shortly afterwards through the efforts of the police and fire personnel, the statement said.
No casualties were reported in the incident, and the situation was under control.
