New Delhi, Sep 21 (PTI) BJP MP Nishikant Dubey on Monday took serious exception to certain alleged remarks of former finance secretary Subhash Garg against him and demanded that he apologise to him within seven days or else face legal consequences.
There was no immediate reaction from Garg to Dubey’s charge.
In a podcast, Garg reportedly said that the BJP MP had once visited his office seeking some favour but he refused.
Taking note of the former finance secretary’s alleged remarks, Dubey said in a post in Hindi on X, “I have decided to set right this insolence of Subhash Garg, the former finance secretary. I have filed a criminal defamation case against him because he has mentioned a meeting with me in his office.” “Subhash Garg, apologise within seven days, or else I will try to get you behind the bars,” the BJP MP said in another post on X.
He also posted some documents which appeared to be the copy of a legal notice sent to Garg.
“I became an MP in 2009, and from then until today, I have never gone to any office of the Government of India because a secretary of the Government of India is below an MP in protocol. Secondly, from 2009 until today, I have never written any letter regarding transfer-posting,” Dubey said on X.
