EC announces assembly election schedule for 5 states, polling to begin from 7 November

The Election Commission said the elections in Rajasthan, Mizoram, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh will be held in a single phase whereas Chhattisgarh will have a second phase of voting.

New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) of India announced polling schedules for assembly elections of five states on Monday. The states of Rajasthan, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh will go to polls in the month of November.

Polling for state elections will begin on 7 November across the states and the votes will be counted on 3 December as per the released schedule. The EC said the elections in Rajasthan, Mizoram, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh will be held in a single phase whereas Chhattisgarh will have a second phase of voting.
For Mizoram, the candidates list will be out on 13 October and the elections will be held on 7 November.
