New Delhi, June 12 (PTI) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday highlighted various achievements of the Modi government over the last 12 years, saying that India has been on a “historic” journey of change and transformation under the leadership of the prime minister.

In a joint press conference with Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra, Gupta said the last 12 years under Modi’s leadership marked achievements in various fields and earned the” unshakeable” trust of 140 crore people.

Modi set the record for the longest-serving elected prime minister on June 10, coinciding with the BJP’s 12 years in power at the Centre.

Gupta said Modi has scripted a new definition of change and transformation in urban transport, witnessing the Metro rail network expand to over 1,000 kilometres in the last 14 years, India emerging as the third-biggest aviation market, and digital transformation.

She said ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ led to a sixfold growth in electronics manufacturing during the period, defence sector corridors were set up in UP and Tamil Nadu, and India now exports defence items to over 100 countries.

Cultural heritage received a boost with the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and the redevelopment of religious corridors in Varanasi, Kedarnath, and Ujjain, she said.

The chief minister also listed the funds Delhi received from the Modi government for slum development, Yamuna cleaning, infrastructure, and transport.

“In the last 12 years, Delhi has witnessed the approval of projects such as Bharat Mandapam, the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor and Tunnel Project, and a nearly 10-kilometre new Metro corridor from RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha,” she said.

Malhotra, who is also the Union minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, and Corporate Affairs, said it was a matter of pride that Modi has become the country’s longest-serving elected prime minister.

He said Modi has worked for every section of society, especially vulnerable groups, and ensured their well-being in the last 12 years.

Malhotra later met Delhi University vice chancellor Yogesh Singh under the BJP’s outreach programme to highlight the achievements of the Modi government in the past 12 years.

Delhi BJP will soon launch a public awareness campaign highlighting the achievements of the BJP government’s 12 years at the Centre and the accomplishments of the Delhi government’s 15 months in office, Malhotra said. PTI VIT KSI KSI
