New Delhi, Apr 7 (PTI) Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva’s father Shyam Lal Sachdeva passed away at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday.
His mortal remains will be cremated at Nigam Bodh Ghat on Wednesday morning, said a statement.
Sachdeva, around 94, is survived by his wife Krishna Sachdeva, a daughter and five sons, including the Delhi BJP chief, it said.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in a post on X paid her condolences saying, “A father’s presence is like a banyan tree and his departure is like the loss of the biggest support of the family. I express my deepest condolences to the party president and the bereaved family.” Several BJP leaders including Union minister Harsh Malhotra, Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, MPs Manoj Tiwari and Kamaljeet Sehrawat, and MLAs Arvinder Singh Lovely and Kailash Gehlot visited Sachdeva’s residence in Mayur Vihar to pay their condolences.
