New Delhi, Jul 20 (PTI) Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra on Monday announced his new team of office-bearers and heads of frontal organisations, with the reshuffle placing emphasis on experienced leaders.

In a statement, Malhotra said the appointments were made after due consultation with the national leadership and with the approval of BJP national president Nitin Nabin.

Of the 38 newly appointed office-bearers, 19 were part of the outgoing Delhi BJP team, while several others have previously held organisational responsibilities.

Three presidents of the BJP’s frontal organisations (morchas) from the previous team were promoted to the main state organisation, said a Delhi BJP statement.

Malhotra, who took charge as Delhi BJP president in May, has named 10 vice-presidents, three general secretaries and nine secretaries in the new team.

Senior leaders Rajesh Bhatia, Sunil Yadav, Richa Pandey Mishra, Kaushal Mishra, Vikram Bidhuri, and Sarika Jain are among the new vice-presidents of the party.

Vishnu Mittal, Yogita Singh and Mohan Lal Gihara are the general secretaries.

Praveen Shankar Kapoor has retained his post as head of the media team, while Anil Gupta has been appointed as the chief spokesperson, and Rohit Upadhyay will head the social media team.

Rajat Chaudhary has been appointed as president of the Delhi BJP Yuva Morcha, while Archna Gupta will head the Mahila Morcha team.

The other appointments include Santosh Pal as president of the OBC Morcha; Lajpat Rai as president of the SC Morcha; C L Meena as president of the ST Morcha; Santosh Ojha as president of the Purvanchal Morcha; Devendra Solanki as president of the Kisan Morcha; and Anees Abbas as president of the Minorities Morcha.

Malhotra said the new team reflects the party’s focus on organisational experience, while maintaining a balanced representation of different regions, social groups, and a healthy mix of experienced and new workers.

He expressed confidence that the newly constituted team would further strengthen the BJP organisation in Delhi and act as an effective medium for ensuring that the benefits of the welfare schemes of both the central government and the Delhi government reach every section of society. PTI VIT RHL
