Ranchi, Apr 14 (PTI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday described the explosion at a Chhattisgarh power plant in which 11 workers were killed as “extremely heart-wrenching”.

At least 11 workers were killed, and 22 others suffered injuries after a tube connected to a boiler exploded at Vedanta Ltd’s power plant in Chhattisgarh’s Sakti district on Tuesday.

“The news of the demise of workers in the explosion at the power plant located in Chhattisgarh is extremely heart-wrenching….I pray for the swift recovery of those injured in the blast,” Soren said in a post on X.

He added: “May Marang Buru (supreme tribal deity) grant peace to the souls of the departed and bestow strength upon the bereaved families to endure this hour of grief.” Four of the workers were killed on the spot, while the seven others succumbed to injuries at hospitals, according to the police.
