Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 20 (PTI) Congress stalwart A K Antony on Friday said that the party came out with its complete list of candidates within three days of the Assembly poll date announcement, but not so in the case of the LDF and NDA.

“Within three days (of poll date announcement), everything was done. But, even now, the NDA and LDF have not come out with names for some seats,” he said in response to reporters’ queries as to why there was a delay in announcing Congress candidates.

When reporters pointed out the “explosions” within the grand old party regarding the selection of candidates, the Congress stalwart said it was nothing compared to what had happened in the past, especially in the 2001 assembly polls, when three party members selected to contest from some seats withdrew at the last moment.

There were reports of Congress MPs K Sudhakaran and Adoor Prakash being discontent over not being given seats, but both leaders later said they were accepting the party decision.

There are also reports of discontent among some members of the grand old party for not being considered as candidates, with two of them leaving to join the BJP.
