Amaravati, Apr 16 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday participated in the self-enumeration process for Census 2027, furnishing details under the house listing and housing census.
The first phase of the census, covering house listing and housing data collection, commenced in the state.
“Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu registered his details on the online portal as self-enumeration for the census began today,” a press release said.
Director of Census Operations, Andhra Pradesh, J Nivas, explained the self-enumeration process to the CM, which includes 33 questions.
Naidu said people can self-enumerate their household details until April 30, while census enumerators will visit residences between May 1 and 30 to collect the data.
He said the census is crucial for planning development programmes, with the family as the basic unit.
He also noted that this would be the first census conducted after the bifurcation of the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh into two states.
“The census is not merely an information-gathering exercise but also a foundation for development,” he said.
He further appealed to the public to make use of the self-enumeration facility. PTI STH SSK
