New Delhi: The Environmental Impact Assessment Portal (PARIVESH), meant to assist in the effective delivery of various environmental clearances, has now crossed the milestone of 50,000 clearances, the government said Monday.

The portal was created to assist in the preparation and delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EC), Forest clearances (FC), Wildlife (WL) and Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearances, and to reduce the time taken for receiving clearances.

According to the government, the average time taken for receiving an EC clearance has been reduced from 105 days to double digits in 2023-2024, while the average time for receiving an FC clearance has been reduced to 150 days.

One of the key features of the PARIVESH portal is the Know Your Approval (KYA) module, which provides a tentative list of clearances that are required for a project. This module helps the project proponent in accurately assessing the environmental sensitivity and planning of the project. The Decision Support System (DSS) module is another useful feature, which is a spatial-based visualization and analytical module that can be used to explore the project’s proximity.

The PARIVESH portal also offers a Common Application Form (CAF) and Application Form Management module, which are designed to minimize the repetitive efforts of the users.
