Blaze erupts in waste dump on open ground in Mumbai; no casualty

Mumbai, Apr 14 (PTI) A fire broke out in waste materials lying on an open ground in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area on Tuesday morning, officials said.

No casualties were reported so far, they said.

The “level-one” blaze was confined to oil cans, plastic materials, dry waste and stockpiled wood spread across the ground along GM Link Road at Mandala in Mankhurd, the officials said.

Four fire engines, five jumbo water tankers, an ambulance and additional support teams were rushed to the spot and efforts were underway to douse the blaze, they said.

The cause of the fire was not yet known. PTI ZA GK
