Bhopal, Apr 14 (PTI) The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday launched an initiative to provide medical assistance to its workers and their family members in the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the initiative, ‘Seva Project’, at the party office in Bhopal, and said the scheme is rooted in the concept of serving humanity and will benefit a large number of workers.
The project was launched by the state BJP’s medical cell on the birth anniversary of chief Constitution maker B R Ambedkar.
Along with Yadav, Madhya Pradesh BJP president Hemant Khandelwal, state in-charge Dr Mahendra Singh, and Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla were present at the event.
On the occasion, the BJP released two mobile numbers — 9203597200 and 9203697200 — where party workers and their families can contact to seek medical assistance.
A party leader claimed this was perhaps the first time a state BJP unit is offering such a facility.
The Chief Minister suggested the BJP medical cell to organise eye check-up camps in villages across the state and said his government would provide free spectacles to those in need.
Madhya Pradesh has a vast network of state and national highways, and the government is preparing a plan to ensure those injured in road accidents receive prompt treatment, he maintained.
“Under this scheme, the government will provide a 30 per cent subsidy to those building hospitals along highways,” the CM stated.
Yadav said in view of the increasing cases of heart attack, the government is building super-specialty hospitals at the divisional level, but work is also progressing rapidly to establish such medical centres in all districts.
In-charge of Madhya Pradesh BJP Singh noted the project exemplifies the party’s principles of “Seva Hi Sanghthan” and “Nation First.” He recalled Ambedkar inspired society to “Educate, Organise, and Struggle,” which continues to be a source of inspiration for the BJP.
“Based on Babasaheb’s ideology, the BJP has honoured his contributions by launching the ‘Seva Project’ from the BJP state office, which is dedicated to every section of society,” Singh opined.
Madhya Pradesh BJP president Khandelwal stated that the initiative will alleviate the suffering of workers and people at large.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla said it is laudable for the saffron organisation to think about the health of its workers.
He emphasised the BJP government is making every possible effort to improve public health. PTI BNS MAS RSY
