Patna: A total of 46 detonators, Maoist literature and uniforms of the red rebels were unearthed in a forest in Bihar’s Jamui district on Monday, an official statement said.
The seizures were made in Pachkatia forest during a joint operation by the Special Task Force (STF) and the district police.
Acting on a tip-off, STF and district police personnel conducted a search operation in Pachkatia forest in Chahara police station area and seized 46 detonators, Naxal literature and their uniforms concealed by the red rebels, according to the STF statement.
A case has been registered and further investigation is underway, it added.
In another joint operation with the district police in Purnea, STF arrested an alleged arms dealer, identified as Kunal Kumar, from Kehaat area in Purnea district on Sunday and seized a German pistol, a rotating bolt of AK-47 assault rifle and 440 cartridges of different pistols and rifles from his possession, the statement said, adding further investigation is underway.
