Itanagar, July 19 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor KT Parnaik on Sunday urged young people to draw upon India’s rich civilisational legacy and play a key role in building a prosperous nation.
Addressing a national seminar, the governor said the youth must carry forward India’s enduring legacy of knowledge and wisdom.
The three-day conclave, which began on July 17, was jointly organised by the Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti, Assam, and the Akhil Bharatiya Itihas Sankalan Yojana, New Delhi, according to an official statement issued by Raj Bhavan.
“From ancient learning centres like Takshashila and Nalanda to modern research institutions, India has consistently evolved while remaining deeply rooted in its timeless values,” Parnaik said.
He said the vision of a developed India should blend technological and economic advancement with the values of integrity, sustainability and social responsibility.
The governor also said flagship initiatives of the Centre such as Digital India, Startup India and the National Education Policy have enabled the youth to become active partners in nation-building.
Highlighting the strategic significance of the Northeast, Parnaik described the region as India’s gateway to Southeast Asia under the Act East Policy.
Assam Indigenous Affairs Minister Biswajit Daimary and the vice-chancellors of Cotton University, North Eastern Hill University and North Lakhimpur University, among other academicians, attended the seminar. PTI CORR SOM
