Chandigarh, Jun 13 (PTI) Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Saturday claimed that the AAP government’s final countdown has started and the party will not touch the double-digit mark in the assembly elections next year.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal is “daydreaming” about Bhagwant Mann becoming the chief minister once again, but the people of Punjab have had enough and want to get rid of this government, Warring said in a statement.

“Take it in writing from me… forget forming the government, the AAP will not even touch the double-digit mark this time and maybe, it will not be able to find enough candidates to field in these elections.

“Over half of its MLAs are just waiting for the right time to jump from the sinking ship,” the Congress leader claimed.

If the AAP leadership believes that it can once again fool the people of Punjab, it is badly mistaken, he said.

“You can fool some people some time, some people all the time, all people some time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time,” he added.

Warring accused the AAP of betraying the women of Punjab after promising to provide them monthly financial assistance of Rs 1,000.

As Kejriwal has himself claimed that the state polls might be held in November, the AAP will now be giving just Rs 3,000 to the women of Punjab when they should have been given Rs 60,000, he said.

“This is the greatest betrayal and the AAP will pay for it,” he asserted.

Warring also expressed surprise over Kejriwal’s announcement about the likelihood of the polls being advanced.

He said, “Shouldn’t this information come from the Election Commission of India?” He wondered whether Kejriwal has some direct connection with the poll body “like his A-team, BJP”. PTI CHS DIV DIV
