New Delhi, Apr 21 (PTI) Delhi Police has arrested a 36-year-old man for allegedly raping his 67-year-old mother multiple times under the influence of alcohol in north Delhi’s Burari area, an official said on Tuesday.

According to the woman’s statement, she was tied up and raped multiple times by the accused, who first assaulted his own daughter.

The accused was arrested from his home after the elderly woman managed to free herself and narrated the incident to her daughter, who then alerted the police.

The woman, a domestic help who supports the family by sweeping and mopping houses, lives with her son and 16-year-old granddaughter, according to the FIR.

“My son is an alcoholic and was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident,” the FIR read.

The woman alleged that her son slapped her daughter over a domestic tiff on April 17 and went outside. The daughter subsequently left for her aunt’s house in the same locality.

“He returned home in a drunken state. I offered him food, but he tied my hands and feet and raped me,” the mother alleged.

She said her son raped her through the night. She managed to untie herself around 4 am after the accused fell asleep, and rushed outside to contact her daughter, who informed police.

A medical examination of the victim and her granddaughter was conducted. Police said a crime team visited the spot and collected evidence.

A case has been been registered in this connection, and the accused was arrested, they added PTI BM BM ARB ARB
