3 men loot gold jewellery worth Rs 70 lakh from bizman in J’khand’s Gumla

Gumla, Apr 28 (PTI) Three unidentified miscreants fired and looted 500 grams of gold ornaments worth over Rs 70 lakh from a businessman in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Monday evening at Puto Road, approximately 330 metres from the Ghaghara police station, while the businessman was returning home after closing his shop.

“Three unidentified armed miscreants looted a total of 500 grams of gold ornaments worth over Rs 70 lakh and Rs 50,000 in cash from the victim. The miscreants were on two to three motorcycles and opened fire during the loot. So far, no one has been arrested in the case,” said Mohan Kumar Singh, the Officer in-charge of Ghaghara police station.

An FIR has been registered in this regard after receiving a written complaint from the victim.

Further investigation is underway, and the miscreants will soon be arrested, the OC said. PTI RPS NN
