18-year-old carpenter shot dead in UP’s Pratapgarh

Pratapgarh (UP), May 16 (PTI) A man was shot dead by three people following a dispute here, police said on Tuesday.

According to the family members of the victim, on Monday night the three accused, including one Gulfan, came to 18-year-old Tanveer’s house in Mahuar village and took him with them, Kotwali SHO Satyendra Singh said.

The trio shot the victim after taking him to an isolated place, he said.

On reaching the spot, the police found Tanveer in an injured condition and took him to a medical college, where doctors declared him brought dead, the SHO said.

Tanveer, who worked as a carpenter, and the accused knew each other. The trio shot him dead following a dispute, the SHO said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the matter is being probed, he said. PTI COR NAV RPA NB
