133 Eco Task Force holds forest conservation drives across Himachal

Shimla, Mar 20 (PTI) The 133 Eco Task Force on Friday organised several programmers across Himachal Pradesh to mark the International Day of Forests, focusing on sensitising local communities about the importance of forest conservation.

The task force held events in Kufri (Shimla district) and in Karsog and in Karsog, Tattapani, and Aut (Mandi district).

Participants were also encouraged to adopt eco-friendly practices to protect natural resources for future generations.

The events were conducted in collaboration with local senior secondary schools, Mahila Mandals, and the Industrial Training Institute in Sunni. Students, teachers and local residents joined unit officers, JCOs and jawans in symbolic plantation drives and awareness campaigns.

A spokesperson of the task force said these initiatives highlighted the role of forests in maintaining environmental balance and supporting sustainable development. PTI COR AKY
