New Delhi: A man with a loaded gun walks towards a club in Northeast Delhi’s Seemapuri. Dressed in a black T-shirt and denims he reaches the entrance and threatens the two male and a woman bouncer standing there.
“Get on your knees,” he commands them before threatening them that he will shoot if they don’t obey. “Might spare her since she is a woman. Won’t repeat now. Get on your knees right now, else I will shoot,” he says.
Two others soon enter the frame. The man who first approached the bouncers stands guard outside as his two accomplices enter the club. By this time, all three bouncers are on their knees. “I will shoot you if you get up,” the man in the black T-shirt yells.
The three men then ask the bouncers about the whereabouts of the club owner before firing indiscriminately in the air. They hurl expletives and leave.
Delhi Police say the incident took place late Thursday evening around 11:30 pm outside the Kanch Club in Jhilmil Industrial area of Northeast Delhi’s Seemapuri.
No one was reported injured in the firing.
In a statement, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Surendra Choudhary said a call was received from one of the bouncers, adding that a case has been registered for attempt to murder and relevant sections of the Arms Act. “On reaching the spot, two live cartridges and eight empty cartridges were found lying on the road in front of Kanch Club. There were two bullet marks at the door of Kanch Club. The scene of crime has been inspected by the district mobile crime team and cartridges seized,” the DCP said.
Police have also recorded the statement of one of the bouncers.
“On 05.09.2024 at about 11.45 pm he (bouncer) was present at the gate of Kanch Club. Two of the men took out pistols and pointed towards him. They fired from their pistols towards them with the intention to kill him. Later, all accused persons fled away from the spot towards Vivek Vihar,” DCP Choudhary said.
So far, one of the suspects, Shahrukh, 30, has been taken into custody while efforts are underway to nab the two other accused.
