New Delhi: On Mahatma Gandhi’s 152nd birth anniversary Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the leader at his memorial in Raj Ghat. Others to present floral tributes to the Mahatma on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October, were President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, and Delhi CM and deputy CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia.
Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi also paid a visit to the Gandhi Smriti.
PM Modi also paid tributes to Gandhi and former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri at the Parliament House.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, the PM tweeted, “His life based on values and principles will always be a source of inspiration for all citizens”.
