New Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had to make time for a young vlogger and offer him his seat of power. Mohammad Shiraz, one of the youngest Pakistani YouTubers, often shows the village life in Gilgit-Baltistan, something even the Pakistani PM was in praise of. The video of Shiraz meeting Sharif is now the talk of the internet in Pakistan.
The young vlogger captures his life as it is—be it his goats, snow-capped peaks surrounding his village, or the day-to-day conversations with his friends and younger sister Muskan. He has charmed the internet with his infectious smile, pink cheeks and lovable attitude.
During his brief meeting with “Shehbaz Uncle”, Shiraz said “Aj main wazir-e-azam ban jauga (Today, I will be the prime minister).” People in the PM’s room cheered.
Sharif warmly welcomed Shiraz and his younger sister Muskan and appreciated their YouTube journey.
Sharif went on to commend Shiraz for his dedication to showcasing village life and his education and emphasised the importance of education and development in Gilgit-Baltistan.
When Sharif asked him what he wanted to become when he grew up, Shiraz said YouTuber, something he had already achieved with his channel ‘‘Shirazi Village Vlogs’. He recently unboxed his YouTube silver button, which is awarded for hitting 1 million subscribers.
Famous for his way with words, Shiraz is often seen sipping nun chai or pink tea at his friends’ homes during tea parties. What makes his videos even more adorable is the appearance of his younger sister Muskan, who tries to copy his greeting — “Asalamualykum nazreen… umeed hai aap khair-o-khairyat se honge (Hello viewers… I hope you are all fine.)”
Using just a phone, Shiraz can go head-to-head with travel vloggers who use professional equipment. Under the video of the vlogger’s visit to the PM, a YouTube user commented, “Jahn aj tk bary bary log na poohach skhy wahn sherazi poohach gya I’m so glad (Shirazi reached where even the most influential people could not reach).” Meanwhile, a fan from India wrote: “He’s not just a youtuber, he’s cultural brand ambassador of Gilgit-Balochistan. Keep growing brother, With love, from India.”
