New Delhi: After Donald Trump and Virat Kohli, Pakistan now has a Mitchell Starc lookalike. And he has appeared in a video days before ICC Champions Trophy starts in the country. Instead of cricketing tips, he gives life-lessons to fans.
Viral across social media, the Pakistani man, whose name remains unknown yet, can be seen wearing the Australian jersey, working in a field. When asked if he has a message for his fans, he answers, “whatever it is that you choose to do, put your heart and soul in it”.
Pakistanis have labelled him the ‘Chinese version of Starc’. Others compared him to Pakistani cricketer Shahnawaz Dahani.
“Shahnawaz Dahani trying to get selected for Australian cricket team,” Instagram user Abdul Rafay wrote.
He is not the only one. There are also those copying the Australian fast bowler’s action.

Case of lookalikes
Last month, British umpire Richard Kettleborough had shared a video of a Pakistani boy bowling and called him ‘the Mitchell Starc of Pakistan.”
Pakistanis are amused. While some dismissed the recent lookalike, most were amazed by Kettleborough’s find and could not stop appreciating his bowling moves. Few even tagged Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to take note.
“His run up, landing and follow through is beautiful,” X user Muhammad Hamza wrote.
Another video from 2024 showed a Starc lookalike getting a shave from a local barber.
“Siasi batein, mosam ka haal, cricket gup shup and above all Attaullah esa khelvi ke lajawab ganay free mein”, (discussions on politics, weather, usual chit chat and good local songs must have been served),” X user Saeed Noman wrote.
Pakistan seems to have no dearth of lookalikes. Earlier in January, Saleem Bagga, a Donald Trump lookalike went viral for his striking similarity to the US president. He even capitalised on his looks and marketed it to sell a Trump kheer.
In 2015, a Kohli lookalike went viral on social media. He got cast in TV commercials. Pakistani cricketer Saud Shakeel too has been compared to the Indian cricketer.
