New Delhi: Raveena Tandon’s daughter, Rasha Thadani, has taken the internet by storm with the song Uyi Amma from her debut film Azaad. Her performance has not only drawn comparisons to Katrina Kaif but also reignited the long-running debate on Bollywood’s “nepo babies.”

The track has garnered over 18 million views in just three days, trending at number seven on YouTube.

It’s also dominating Instagram, with influencers accepting it with open arms. Many have jumped on the trend, recreating Thadani’s hook step from the song, adding to its viral appeal.

Sung by Madhubanti Bagchi, composed by Amit Trivedi, and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Uyi Amma blends traditional and contemporary choreography by Bosco Leslie Martis.

Rasha’s graceful moves and captivating expressions have won over fans, with some dubbing her “Raveena + Katrina = Rasha.”

Praise poured in, with comments like, “A true heroine is born,” and “She’s more expressive than Khushi Kapoor or Suhana Khan. The next Katrina Kaif!” Another wrote, “Raveena must be so proud—she’s given birth to herself!”

‘A true actress’

Her debut seems to have turned the tide on nepotism.

One viewer noted in the YouTube comment section, “Nepotism did it right this time! She’s talented, confident, and her expressions are on point.”

Others echoed similar sentiments: “Among all star kids, she seems the most promising,” and “For the first time, a star kid exudes the aura of a true actress.”

Fans have also applauded Thadani’s ability to bring back the charm of the 90s queens.

“Her expressions are like someone with years of experience, and she’s only 19,” wrote a fan. Another commented, “She has a heroine’s aura—a first among this generation of star kids. Rasha truly has the potential to be Bollywood’s next big star.”

Azaad also marks the debut of Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan. It is scheduled to be released on 17 January. The film also stars Devgn.

The trailer, released two days ago, has over seven million views on YouTube. And, is currently trending at number four on the platform.

Ajay Devgn is described as a baaghi (a rebel) in the trailer. He is deeply connected to his loyal horse. The story begins when the horse goes missing during a battle against the British forces. Devgan, a stable boy, steps in to help find it. Thadani plays a royal family member.
