New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan made a surprise appearance at the Manchester Opera House in London during the rehearsals for Come Fall in Love — The DDLJ Musical, based on his 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.
“When Raj of DDLJ met Rog & Simran of #ComeFallinLove,” read the caption of the Instagram post by the musical’s official handle.
The page shared a carousel post with three photos. The first has Khan flanked by the lead actors of the musical, Jena Pandya and Ashley Day.
“The king of hearts of the Indian film industry, Shah Rukh Khan, popped into our London rehearsal room and inspired us all and yes, hearts definitely skipped a beat,” the caption said.
The other two photos in the post feature Khan with the entire cast and crew, including music composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravijani, along with other members of the production.
The musical, directed by Aditya Chopra, reimagines the beloved romance that first paired Khan with Kajol.

‘Surreal day’
The musical, which marks the film’s 30th anniversary year, had its world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego in 2022. Now, the show is getting ready to hit the stage in the UK. Premiering on 29 May, it will run until 21 June at the Manchester Opera House.
Jena Pandya stars as Simran opposite Ashley Day as Rog, the character inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s Raj. Pandya shared the post on her Instagram Story with the caption: “Check out the most surreal day. Ever.” Day also shared the post on his story, acknowledging the team behind the production.
The creative team includes Nell Benjamin as lyricist and Tony Award-winner Rob Ashford as choreographer, with Indian dance sequences by Shruti Merchant.
The production features 18 all-new English songs created by acclaimed Indian music duo Vishal-Shekhar.
