New Delhi: Physics Wallah founder Alakh Pandey has come out in support of fellow YouTuber and educator Khan Sir amid the ongoing controversy involving two coaching institutes in Patna. Before him Neetu Ma’am, founder KD campus and Amit Kilhor, former UPSC teacher and influencer had also come out in support of Khan Sir.
The dispute stems from clashes between Khan Global Studies and Gyan Bindu GS Academy, which is owned by Raushan Sir. Following the death of Raushan Sir’s brother under suspicious circumstances, Khan Sir has been accused of being responsible.
In a video posted on Facebook late night on 15 June, Alakh Pandey, said, “I stand with Khan Sir. I have been getting so many comments asking me to say something about Khan Sir. When something happens to your brother, will you make videos or help him?”
He further said, “The person who has done so much for the country has made education so affordable through YouTube and other platforms. It is not his responsibility to open hospitals and make healthcare cheap. Today, what he got in return is being called ‘Faisal Khan’.”
Khan Global Studies versus Gyan Bindu
The incident between the two coaching institutes took place earlier this month on 2 June.
Both Khan Global Studies and Gyan Bindu had planned felicitation ceremonies in June to celebrate their students’ success in the Bihar Police recruitment examination. In Musallahpur Haat, results are not only a marketing tool but also a matter of prestige. Giant hoardings announcing selections had come up across the neighbourhood.
Tensions escalated after a poster put up by Gyan Bindu was allegedly torn down, triggering retaliation.
All of this quickly turned into violence. A group of men allegedly arrived outside Khan Global Studies and vandalised signboards and posters. They also assaulted a security guard, leaving him seriously injured.
Soon after, Khan Sir alleged that those involved in the attack had opened fire outside his coaching institute.
Raushan Sir was arrested in connection with the case, while his brother and some others reportedly fled to Nepal and had been living there.
On Monday, Raushan Sir’s brother died in Nepal under suspicious circumstances. Raushan Sir was granted bail the same day.
After being released from jail, Raushan Sir told ANI, “Khan Sir has killed my brother.”
An FIR was also filed against Khan Sir on allegations that he had instructed his guard to fire gunshots and later concealed the information. However, Khan was never arrested and was granted bail. The Patna Police had earlier stated that Khan Sir was absconding. Following the death of Raushan Sir’s brother, the controversy has intensified. Khan Sir also released a video on social media expressing his condolences.
Pandey released a one-minute-and-20-second video in support of Khan Sir.
He said, “I was talking to Khan Sir, and we agreed that a proper investigation should take place. The police should come forward and clarify the facts. If Khan Sir is found guilty, he should be punished. I have that much faith. Whatever happened to Raushan Sir’s brother is very unfortunate. I am standing with Khan Sir till the end. We request the police that whoever is responsible in this matter should be hanged.”
