New Delhi: The iconic comedy duo Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David are reuniting in David’s new sketch comedy series Life, Larry and The Pursuit of Unhappiness. The show, which calls itself an “almost history” of America, features David in the country’s most iconic moments.
It marks 250 years of America and is David’s biggest project after Curb Your Enthusiasm ended in 2024. The series is set to premiere on 26 June.
HBO dropped the first trailer on Thursday. It featured a sketch with Seinfeld, in which they play Lewis and Clark of the famed Lewis and Clark Expedition.
The show is executive produced by Barack and Michelle Obama, along with Ethan Lewis and Vinnie Malhotra. The limited series will have seven episodes, all retelling American history in David’s signature comic style.
The trailer starts with a sketch of the Wright brothers and America’s most talked-about invention, the airplane.
The series explores everything from wars, where David, “the soldier,” calls a fellow soldier’s girl “alright” and industrialisation, where he says he has no problem with children working in factories, to the Founding Fathers writing “The Declaration of Common Sense.”

Seinfeld to now
David and Seinfeld are best known for co-creating Seinfeld, one of the most successful sitcoms in history. It ran for nine seasons from 1989 to 1998.
After Seinfeld, David moved on to Curb Your Enthusiasm. After a one-hour special in 1999, the show started its 12 season run in 2000. The final episode aired in April 2024.
Fans have been waiting for a comeback from the veteran comedian and the YouTube comments are a testament.
“So it’s just Curb in history? I’ll take it,” reads one comment. Another read, “At 78 years old, everything we get from Larry David going forward is a blessing.”
