New Delhi: Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge has become a juggernaut, sweeping the box office and picking up compliments from all quarters. Even as most Bollywood stars are yet to comment on the film, stalwarts from the South Indian film industries have been heaping praise on the director, actors and the film in general.
Rajinikanth called it a ‘a must watch film for every Indian’ and ended his tweet with Jai Hind.
Dhar reacted to the compliment and wrote that receiving a “must watch” compliment from someone he has admired all his life felt surreal and emotional.
“Sir, we’ve all grown up measuring ‘entertainment’ with just one benchmark, YOU,” wrote the director.
Nagarjuna shared his thoughts in a post on his X account. “ It just blew my mind, and I can’t stop thinking about it. This is one of those films that inspires and changes filmmaking!!,” wrote the actor.
He congratulated Dhar and the entire technical team of the film, along with the actors.
The actor, who heads Hyderabad-based Annapurna Studios, also shared that the Dolby cinema for the film and South Indian languages localisation was done in his studio.

Heaps of praise
Earlier, Telugu film industry stars, from Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, to Vijay Deverakonda shared their reviews of the film. Charan wrote a long note, praising each department associated with the film.
He mentioned the music department, which brought together a medley of voices from all over India. Charan wrote that Shashwat Sachdev’s music elevates the film and praised Jio Studios and Jyoti Deshpande for “backing the vision and delivering one of the most riveting films in Indian cinema”.
Dhar also responded to the tweet and wrote, “We just tried to tell a story with honesty (and a little madness). Glad it resonated with you!”
He also shared his best wishes with Charan for his upcoming film, Peddi.
“It takes conviction and fearless vision to mount a film like this and Aditya Dhar sir brings that strength to every frame,” wrote Jr NTR in his review of the film, while Mahesh Babu called the film “an explosion executed with perfect precision”.
However, many stars from the Hindi film industry are yet to share their thoughts on the film. So far, Alia Bhatt praised the film in her Instagram story, sharing an image of Ranveer Singh in a pagdi. “Jaskirat Singh Rangi and this moment…is everything. The magic of the director and the actor in complete sync!” wrote Bhatt. Karan Jiohar, who is yet to watch the film, shared that he has ‘FOMO’ or fear of missing out on the film, because of all the reviews being shared online.
So far, the film has made Rs 844.76 crore worldwide, and Rs 619.76 crore in India alone.
