(Reuters) – A broad area of low pressure over the northwestern Caribbean Sea has a 70% chance of becoming a cyclone in the next 48 hours and is projected to move into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said on early Monday.
“Environmental conditions appear favorable for further development of this system, and a tropical depression or storm is likely to form over the next couple of days,” the Miami-based forecaster added.
