German chancellor criticises U.S. climate agreement exit

BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany is disappointed that the United States plans to leave the Paris climate agreement also in view of the fact the U.S. has been the biggest greenhouse gas polluter in history, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Wednesday.

“I deeply regret that the USA wants to leave the agreement,” Scholz said on the sidelines of the Petersberg climate conference in Berlin.
