New Delhi: Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan have won big on the global spirits stage. Their blended Scotch, D’YAVOL Vortex, which the two helped fine-tune through multiple tasting sessions, has been named Best New Scotch Whisky of the Year and also awarded a Double Gold at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, one of the industry’s most influential awards.
Calling it a major milestone for D’YAVOL Spirits, CEO Leti Blagoeva said the latest win is a “cherry on top” of the recent winning streak of accolades for the brand.
“The San Francisco competition is one of the most respected spirits awards in the world, so earning recognition here carries immense significance,” Blagoeva told ThePrint.
She recalled the tasting sessions and revealed that both SRK and Aryan have “evolved palates” and “creative instincts”, and that their personal preferences are reflected in D’YAVOL Vortex.
“Tasting sessions are always a critical, and an enjoyable part of development, and yes, there were several rounds as we refined in on the ideal expression,” she said.
Their (SRK and Aryan) personal preferences, according to Blagoeva, tend to be mood-driven, shifting between “smokier, peat-forward styles and richer, fruit-led profiles.”
That diversity ultimately helped the team create a whisky with depth, balance, and broad appeal.

‘Crafted with passion’
D’YAVOL Vortex opens with notes of vanilla fudge and soft peat, followed by layers of ripe orchard fruit, sherried richness, warm pecan pie, and smoky malt, before giving a smooth finish to the palate.
It is crafted from a selection of single malt and single grain whiskies sourced from the Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside, and Islay regions.
Blagoeva said it’s “deeply gratifying” to see industry leaders validate an expression crafted with such passion, precision, and obsessive attention to detail.
“This award reinforces that philosophy, strengthening our credibility and energising our journey as we continue refining our craft,” she added.
D’YAVOL Vortex has also been awarded Gold at the Scotch Whisky Masters 2025, Gold at the New York World Spirits Competition 2024, and Gold at the International Wine & Spirits Awards 2024.
That’s not all. The brand’s Single Estate Vodka has also received multiple awards, including gold medals in 2025 at the New York International Spirits Competition and USA Spirits Ratings. The vodka also won a Double Gold at the Singapore World Spirits Competition 2024.
D’YAVOL Vortex is available for Rs 5,300 in Maharashtra.
