New Delhi: Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar The Revenge has broken a nine-year-old box office record in North America. The film is now the highest-grossing Indian film in the North American continent, surpassing Prabhas’ Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017).
The Ranveer Singh-starrer was released in theatres worldwide on 19 March; within two weeks, it had grossed over $22 million (Rs 205 crore) in North America. It surpassed Baahubali 2’s previous record of $20.80 million (over Rs 198 crore).
As per trade portal Sacnilk, the first part of the Dhurandhar franchise, released in 2025, earned $20.60 million (Rs 170 crore) in its lifetime. But it was its highly anticipated sequel that finally dethroned SS Rajamouli’s Telugu-language drama.
The makers of Baahubali 2 congratulated Dhar and the team for their achievement. Shobu Yarlagadda, producer of the 2017 blockbuster, expressed his appreciation for Dhurandhar 2 on X, saying that he enjoyed the film and was happy to see it break records.
“Yesterday I watched Dhurandhar: The Revenge and needless to say I loved it and thoroughly enjoyed the film! Happy to see it breaking all the records and setting new box office benchmarks in India and worldwide. Congratulations to the entire team,” Yarlagadda wrote.
The official account for the Bahubali duology on 29 March also congratulated Dhar’s team for setting new box office records in India and the world over.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is just the latest in a long line of films that broke box office records in the US and Canada.

With Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023) by director Karan Johar occupying the 11th spot with $10.6M (Rs 88.5 crore).
With Dhurandhar: The Revenge taking the number one spot, Singh has become only the third actor after Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas to have two of his films in the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films in North America list.
In India, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has crossed the Rs 1,000 crore gross mark within 11 days of its release. With its total overseas gross of Rs 350 crore, the film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 1,361.95 crore.
With this, Dhurandhar 2 has eclipsed Dhurandhar’s lifetime worldwide collection of Rs 1307 crore, within weeks of its release and has become one of the highest earning Hindi films ever.
