New Delhi: Deepika Padukone has finally responded to criticism about her reported “silence” on her husband Ranveer Singh’s performance in the film Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

The actor broke her silence by responding to a comment on Culture Circle’s Instagram post. The reel from 23 March also ran a poll in its caption with two options: “Over-analysing” and “Calculated snub” regarding Padukone’s silence on the film’s success or Singh’s performance.

“The latter, my friend. P.S. I watched it way before any of you did. Now, who is the joke on?” Padukone responded to a comment.

The reel about the film, which was released on 19 March, had a voice-over asking the questions as visuals from the film played. It called out Padukone for missing the film’s screening and highlighted that she attended Rishab Rikhiram Sharma’s music concert in Mumbai with her in-laws a day later.

The 2026 film is the second and highly anticipated sequel to Aditya Dhar’s 2025 blockbuster of the same name, starring Singh as the lead character alongside an ensemble cast featuring Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, among others.

In December 2025, Padukone had encouraged audiences to watch the film via an Instagram story. She had also congratulated the team, including director Aditya Dhar, along with the cast and crew.

Trolling the trolls

Padukone’s comment has since garnered hundreds of likes and positive reactions. A fan wrote, “CLOCK EM QUEEN.”

“Joke’s on the whole internet,” commented another.

One fan wrote: “Keep going, Deepu! That’s how you end them in the most classy way.”

Others commented on how people should stay out of the two actors’ marriage.

Padukone also shared the new name of her upcoming film with Allu Arjun on her Instagram profile. Sharing a visual of Arjun’s look for the film, she wrote, ‘AA22xA6 Is Now Called Raaka’. The Atlee directorial’s first glimpse was shared on Arjun’s 44th birthday, and the film will be released in nine languages.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has continued its juggernaut and surpassed the Rs 1,641.37 crores so far, according to Sacnilk.
