New Delhi: The Congress is set for a clear victory in Karnataka while Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Basavraj Bommai conceded defeat saying, “We’ve not been able to make the mark”.
Siddaramaiah hailed the outcome as a “mandate against Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and J.P. Nadda”, and said the verdict will serve as a “stepping stone” for the general election next year. State Congress chief D.K. Shivakumar, who broke down while interacting with reporters, said he had “assured” the party high command that he would “deliver” the state.
The Print’s Political Editor DK Singh along with Ishadrita Lahiri and Sharan Poovanna discusses what the outcome means for the Congress party.
