New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh-based Geomysore Services (India) Pvt Ltd said it will start full-scale production at their Jonnagiri project, across Jonnagiri, Erragudi and Pagadirayi villages in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh, from October 2025. This, the firm said in a press statement, will be the first large-scale private gold mine since Independence.

According to a release, the project has secured environmental clearance and consent to operate (CTO) from the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board for 0.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) ore processing and 0.4 MTPA mining.

The company said initial output will be around 500 kg a year, rising to nearly 1,000 kg annually once statutory clearances are secured.

B. Prabhakaran, who leads the firm with support from Thriveni Earthmovers, Prakar and Lloyds Metals and Energy, said the project supports the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, and Geomysore will prioritise CSR in education, health, water, sanitation, plantation and skill development.
