The second India-US dialogue on Africa will be held in Washington DC for two days, starting 14 May, according to an external affairs ministry (MEA) statement.
The focus will be on sharing ideas and perspectives on ways to develop institutional, technical, and bilateral synergies for cooperation in Africa, the MEA statement added.
The India-US dialogue on Africa aims to explore ways to collaborate on projects and programmes of cooperation in Africa by leveraging the strengths of India and the US, according to the immediate priorities in Africa.
The first such dialogue on Africa took place between the two countries after the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 during India’s G20 presidency in September last year.
The Indian side will be led by Additional Secretary (East & Southern Africa Division) Puneet Kundal and Additional Secretary (Central and West Africa Division) Sevala Mude, while the US side will be led by Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Mary Catherine Phee.
