India, UK strengthen cyber cooperation in New Delhi

Sixth Cyber Dialogue between both countries focused on threat assessment, data protection and capacity building.

New Delhi: The Sixth Cyber Dialogue between India and the United Kingdom was held in New Delhi on July 3. The dialogue was aimed at strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in the field of cyberspace and to build a safe and robust cyberspace, an MEA press release stated.

The delegation from India was led by Joint Secretary, Cyber Diplomacy Division, Ministry of External Affairs of India (MEA) Amit A. Shukla. The delegation from the UK was led by Head of Strategy and Engagement, Cyber Policy Department, The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) of the UK. The dialogue included officials from both the countries.

The main areas of discussion in the dialogue included cyber threat assessment, internet governance, data protection, protection of critical infrastructure, capacity building and cooperation in multilateral fora. Both the countries agreed to deepen their cooperation in the field of cyberspace. The Cyber Dialogue 2024 will strengthen the cooperation between the two countries in the field of cyberspace and to build a safe and robust cyberspace.
