Indian Navy Chief to embark on four-day visit to Bangladesh on 1 July

Four-day visit aims to strengthen bilateral defense ties, explore naval cooperation.

New Delhi: Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff of India, is set to visit Bangladesh for four days starting 1 July. The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral defence relations between the two countries and exploring new avenues for naval cooperation.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, the Chief of the Naval Staff of Bangladesh, Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, will welcome Admiral Tripathi in Dhaka Monday. The two will hold bilateral talks and review the Passing Out Parade at the Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA) in Chittagong.

During his four-day stay in Bangladesh, Admiral Tripathi will also hold talks with the Chief of the Army Staff of Bangladesh, General Waker-Uz-Zaman, and the Chief of the Air Staff of Bangladesh, Air Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, as well as the Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division, Lt Gen Mizanur Rahman Shameem. He will also visit a few key defence facilities of the country.
