New Delhi: Indian drone company ideaForge has bagged a contract from the US to provide its surveillance drones for about 20-25 schools in Texas.

The Indian firm’s American subsidiary, ideaForge Technology Limited, has received a purchase order for its integrated, autonomous, unmanned system to support campus security through aerial monitoring at the Texas school.

The company’s UAVs were impressive during the demo and instantly shortlisted by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District Police Department. The company will deploy NDAA-compliant SWITCH and Q6 V3 UAVs to provide surveillance coverage across 20–25 schools, monitoring campus infrastructure enabled by cutting-edge technology and data analytics, a statement by ideaForge said.

Incidentally, the drones manufactured by ideaForge, including the military version of the SWITCH, are deployed along India’s borders with Pakistan and China.

In November last year, the company had secured orders worth over Rs 100 crore from the Indian Army, including one for its newest UAV-ZOLT Tactical, valued at Rs 75 crore, and an additional Rs 30 crore order for SWITCH V2, which is already in service with the force.

Talking about the American order, the company said this will help authorities in having real-time situational awareness and responding to any security threats, suspicious activities and unauthorised invasions across the campuses more promptly and diligently.

The Lamar CISD Police Department also plans to extend these platforms in coordination with the city police department for search and rescue and surveillance missions, as and when required, the company said.
