Instead, recognising both the fact of asymmetry and sovereign equality, respecting each other’s core interests, India and China can find a way to coexist peacefully. Seeing what President Trump is doing to the global economy, should India place itself so firmly in America’s corner.
Socialist India fails to realise that money, development, and defence power bring respect. To attain them, free-market capitalism is required. Socialist India is allergic to capitalism but wants respect. This is not possible. No wonder China gives two hoots about India.
